There were five competitons running: one Science Fiction, two Fantasy and two Ancients.

Around 80 players came to Plymouth to take part in these competitions and the show, and the PAW committee and members thank them for their support.

Special thanks goes to the Organisers, Umpires and their helpers for all their hard work, both before and during the weekend.

Art de la Guerre

The Art de la Guerre competition represented the 25/28mm part of the Ancients period, with some magnificent armies on the table.

There was a good turn out, with 14 players rolling out their favourite armies for this year's 1345: Europe after the Bastards theme.  1345 was the year of Sir Baldwin Bastard’s death – the year the Bastard family lost their principal seat at Efford, a suburb of Plymouth, so it had local relevance!

Field of Glory

The 15mm Ancients game was represented by Field of Glory.  This year's theme was Arrows in the Air!  Armies had to include at least 32 bases of MF bow, longbow or crossbow.

Only 7 players made it to Plymouth, but they all seemed to have a great time.

Kings of War

Kings of War covered the Fantasy portion of the hobby, and brought in 14 players, partly because a new version of the rules was published only a month before the show!

Many armies featured Fantastic Beasts of one sort or another as their focal points, and there were wonderful examples of painting skill.

Warhammer 40K

The largest competition at 26 players, this was actually down on 2025.  WH40K provided players with a science fiction option.

There were some stunning examples of painting amongst these armies.  The armies in use frequently included towering War Machines, that dominated the tabletop.

Blood Bowl

Blood Bowl is a 28mm Fantasy Football game, a sort of American Football with Orks, Goblins and Elves.

New this year, and added to the list quite late on in the proceedings, there were only a handful of players for this tournament, but they all seemed to enjoy themselves.

If players are interested, we will run this again in 2027.
