Wings of Glory Campaign.

First round.1st March 2015

Today saw a strong start by the Imperial German air force as they won the majority of the scenarios but at a large cost in planes.

They stopped the British Royal Flying Corps bombing two targets, while successfully photographing two potential targets for their own bombers at a later date.

They also managed a raid on the British airfield, doing considerable, but not permanent , damage.

They failed to stop the British crossing their lines in a daylight interception(what the British are up to we will have to wait to find out).

In another major sortie lost one of their promising pilots, who tragically collided with one of his own squadron. During this collision his plane caught fire, and while he attempted to put it out, took further damage from a British fighter before falling out of the sky.

This was the fifth plane that the Germans had lost, to the British loss of a single plane, representing a quarter of their squadron's fighter strength.

Comment from the German squadron commander:
The unfailing loyalty and heroism of our glorious flyers show that our nation and allies will be victorious.
However, training will continue so that further…..err….clashes between newer pilots are kept
to a minimum.
Undt der next dummkoph that damages………………..!!!

Comment from the British squadron commander:
I am very pleased with my chaps performance, especially as many of them had little flying experienec. Two of our chaps now have confirmed kills under their belt, and reports appear to confirm considerable damage was done to the ememy'.

Scores to date:
Germany 17
Allies 11

Enjoyed today despite all my collisions.

Do though think the rule needs to be looked at.

We must of had at least 12 probably more as I had 6 alone.

I've done a google search and can only find a total of 78 recorded mid air collisions in the entire aviation history. So quite a bit less than 1 per year.

If you can find any different stats then please let me know.
