Tournament Games
Despite some competitions having to be scratched for lack of support, there were still four tournaments, with around 80 players. Special thanks to the various Umpires, without whom these competitons would not be possible.
Warhammer 40K
A staple at PAW shows since the first one we ran in 2000, there were 40 players this year, with a marvellous selection of armies on display. Here are the placings and other awards:
- 1st Place - Mani Cheema using Dark Angels
- 2nd Place - Simon Corder using Space Wolves
- 3rd Place - George McCoulough using Drukhari
- Best Army - Steve Connell for his Emperor's Children army
Kings of War
Fantasy games of one sort or another have also been a popular part of the PAW tournament line-up since 2000, although the exact rule set has changed over the years.
- 1st Place - Heath Barnes using Ratkin
- 2nd Place - Richard Jackson using Order of the Green Lady
- 3rd Place - Mark Nicholas using Undead
- Wooden Spoon - Laurance Dewsnap
- Best army - Kevin Derrington for his Herd
- Most Double 1s - Matt Thompson using Halflings
- Best General - Sam Stones with Elves
Field of Glory 15mm Ancients
The 2023 winner was Steve Murton, using Ptolemaic Egyptian. Second was Paul Bartlett, with Classical Greek.
Art de la Guerre 25mm Ancients
Winner was Colin Cavanagh using Arab Conquest, with Gordon Jamieson second fielding Fudal French. Third was Anthony Rodwell using a Kingdom of Sicily army, and Phil Mackie took the Wooden Spoon with his Ghaznavids
